Fade Away Like Grass
For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath
The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away,
the haughty people of the earth do languish.
Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious
beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them
that are overcome with wine!
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD
bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;
and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
I will surely consume them, saith the LORD: there shall be no grapes on
the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things that
I have given them shall pass away from them.
For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth
the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth:
so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away,
reserved in heaven for you,
